Introduction to AMC

AMC ~ Adrian Marmont Construction have been asked to work as Project Managers and Contractors for the proposed work to the old Mayfair Hotel in Heene Terrace. We will oversee all aspects of the project, including the design work and continue through to final completion undertaking the restoration and conversion should our planning application be successful.

As local Contractors we have an understanding of the importance of this Historic Grade 11 Listed Building and look for the project to focus on restoration and quality rather than the creation of multiple smaller units.

Over the years we have received various awards for high quality work including the FMB Master Builder of the Year, Design and Build award from Worthing Council, RIBA and Sussex Heritage Awards.  Additionally we are NHBC, FMB, Trust Mark, NRWB and LABC approved contractors and offer clients a quality design and build package from small home improvements through to larger projects.  Have a look through our website www.amc-website.co.uk for more information and would be pleased to look at any building project you have planned. We have successfully completed many quality projects from traditional restoration through to contemporary and modernist architecture, some examples of our finished projects are shown below.

The Proposal

Following many months of consultation and meetings our current proposal represents the work of the design team and their expert consultants, combined with the requests and recommendations of the Planning and Tourism Officers working on the case.  A range of experts have all provided guidance and input and hope it will gain the support of the Development Control Committee, Planning Officers and the residents of Worthing. The current proposal focuses on Architectural integrity and restoration but requires an investment of over 3 million.

After extensive research looking at viability it was found the continued use within the tourism industry would never be an economically viable option, mostly due to the extensive work the dilapidated building requires.  To save the endangered building a conversion back to residential use is planned.

A quality approach focusing on restoration and preserving the building has been applied to the application which will benefit Worthing as a whole and in particular the local area by returning a Historic Listed Building authentically back to its original design.

Our Planning Design Statement shows full details and is combined with supporting documents.  This is available for inspection at the Town Hall and the links on our website will take you to the submitted documents.  An Open Morning on 24th September held between 10am and 1pm on the Gardens in front of the Mayfair has been planned but if the weather is poor or we are not allowed to use the gardens an area inside the hotel will be made available though this would be restricted as areas within the building are unsafe.

Feedback

Please leave your feedback on the form below.

On this day Adrian Marmont will be there to answer any questions and generally show people the proposal.

We would like to start the renovation work as soon as possible as the condition of the building is rapidly deteriorating, and currently unsafe.  If you feel you can offer support it would be gladly received and would help our application, but likewise if you have concerns with any areas please also contact us so we can look at solutions.  This can be done on the Open Day or after via our website.  Letters can also be sent in to Worthing Council or directly to us.

Mayfair Hotel Open Day Saturday 24th September 10am-1pm.
